Porsche 2023 Models: Complete Lineup, Prices, Specs & Reviews

The 718 Spyder RS sits in its own class with an engine as powerful as the one offered in the Cayman GT4 RS. The biggest difference is the ability to drop the top down so you can hear the sonorous howl of the engine as it redlines at 9,000 RPM, and feel the active aerodynamics of the body push it down hard into the road. The Boxster GTS 4.0 was first introduced in 2021 and remains in the lineup for 2023.

The German carmaker, leveraging its wealth of experience, has something to offer a wide variety of customers, from those seeking a capable daily driver to those requiring a hardcore performance machine. Porsche currently offers almost 90 different vehicles in various trims and configurations! That number is distributed among a lineup that includes the 718 Cayman, 718 Boxster, 911 (992), Panamera, Macan, Cayenne and all-electric Taycan. Porsche AG (which stands for Doktor Ingenieur honoris causa Ferdinand Porsche Aktiengesellschaft), as a 100% subsidiary of VW AG, is responsible for the actual production and manufacture of the Porsche automobile line. The company currently produces Porsche 911,[37] Boxster and Cayman sports cars, the Cayenne and Macan sport utility vehicles and the four-door Panamera. Many regard the 356 as the first Porsche simply because it was the first model sold by the fledgling company.

The good news recently is that the four-cylinder boxer engines that left us wanting more have now been joined by 4.0-litre flat sixes in the potent GTS models and the special-edition Spyder and GT4 cars. The current Porsche model range includes sports cars from the Boxster roadster to their most famous product, the 911. The Cayenne is Porsche’s mid-size luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV).

  1. Both Macan models come equipped with air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) electronic damping control as standard.
  2. The skeptics were proven wrong once they took the wheel and realized that it was no ordinary SUV, boasting power and handling prowess far beyond those of modern SUVs.
  3. However, the 911’s distinctive rear-engine architecture allows for greater braking to happen in the back.
  4. Further collaboration in 1976 resulted in the Porsche 912E (US only) and the Porsche 924, which used many Audi components, and was built at Audi’s Neckarsulm factory, which had been NSU’s.

The Macan currently leads the line as Porsche’s best-selling model. In 2021, it accounted for nearly a third of global Porsche sales, with 88,362 units sold. crossing moving average strategy With the Macan, Porsche has demonstrated that a crossover can drive like a sports car, complete with agile handling and adequate power under the hood.

The Macan is Porsche’s next EV project, with an EV variant expected 2024 or 2025. If the Taycan is anything to go by, the Macan EV is only going to consolidate the model’s dominance in the market. The Taycan is powered by a standard 79.2-kWh battery and a rear permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor that makes 402 horsepower, though a 93.4-kWh battery is an option. It increases power to 469 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque. 0-to-60-mph is achieved in 5.1 seconds with launch control and top speed is rated at 143 mph.

The open-top 911 Carrera GTS offers a heightened feeling of freedom, especially with all that power under the throttle foot. When closed, the Cabriolet adopts the elegant silhouette of the 911 Coupé models – thanks to a fully automatic fabric hood. For Porsche newbies, the ‘4’ in Carrera 4 means all-wheel drive. It may come in handy for times when you require that little bit of extra traction. This may just be the perfect option if you live in cold climates and get lots of rain or snow. While the base Boxster is excellent, there is no hiding the fact that the Boxster S, with its extra power, is just that little bit more addictive.

With sales exceeding 28.7 billion euros in 2020, Porsche was able to break previous records. Porsche has expanded its inventory this century to include four-door cars, including both SUVs (the Macan and Cayenne) and sedans (the Panamera and the electric Taycan). The electric motors draw their energy from a lithium-ion (HV) battery in the underbody, with a gross capacity of 100 kWh, of which up to 95 kWh can be actively used. The HV battery is a central component of the newly developed Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with 800-volt architecture, used by Porsche for the first time in the new Macan. Porsche’s Macan is one of the many electric vehicles coming in 2024.

Although, you will most likely want to stick to the tarmac where you can spring a surprise on unwary drivers with the Taycan’s acceleration and speed. Like the 911, ‘4S’ means this is a sportier version of the Taycan bolstered with an all-wheel-drive system. The EV’s dual-motor setup blends well with the all-wheel-drive system, transforming the sedan into a sports machine with impressive capabilities. The base Cayman is still a tasty proposition with its turbo 2.0-liter flat-four good for 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. It is perfect for the Porsche enthusiast who wants some fun without necessarily breaking the bank.

The 10.9-inch infotainment touchscreen to the right is more successful, and is a leaps-and-bounds advancement beyond what you’ll find in the gas-only Macan. It is based on Android Automotive, but it does retain Apple CarPlay compatibility. We appreciate the vivid colors, clean layout and menu icons that remain permanently docked on the left side of the screen, including when Apple CarPlay is engaged. Android Auto is unnecessary given the entire infotainment system’s Android underpinnings.
